Hi Everyone,

Summer is always a busy time here at Sulky. We have our Sulky National Educator Training (in just a few days) at which we train our Educators to teach the latest Sulky Sew Exciting Seminar in Retail Stores all over the Country, and this summer, we're finishing up our latest book (#900B-17), which is a Supplement to our original best-selling book Sulky Secrets to Successful Stabilizing. Since this book was first published in 1994, it has been reprinted several times and has sold well over 125,000 copies. Many people refer to this book as the "bible" of stabilizers.

"Sew" much has changed since 1994. Then we had eight or nine stabilizers, now we have 16! Wow! So along with all those new stabilizers comes better, easier and more exciting ways to do creative projects. In the original book, we gave you a very good basic education on Sulky Stabilizers. In this supplement, we don't repeat that basic information but focus, instead, on all of the newest Stabilizers that we have introduced in the last several years. If you own the original book, you will definitely want to purchase this Supplement. If you don't already own the original book you will be able to buy the Original and the Supplement packaged together at a special combination price.

I know some of you might think there are ENOUGH stabilizers already, but really, isn't it all about making it easier and more fun? If we were still sewing on our grandmother's old Singer or Kenmore, perhaps just a couple of stabilizers would make us quite happy. But now, with all of the computerized embroidery, quilting, decorative stitches, lace making and more, having exactly the right Sulky Stabilizer to do it right the first time is important. All of us are feeling the financial crunch and are looking for new, better, or more efficient ways to spend our money and still enjoy doing the creative things we love, for the people we love. The right Sulky Stabilizer is a very good investment, indeed.

In this new book, there are wonderful projects using our newest Stabilizers, and here's a sneak peak of the cover; below we'll show you a couple of the trendy and fun projects in this new book.

The newest Sulky "Sew Exciting Seminar" that will debut in September is based on the projects and stabilizers in this new book. Be sure to encourage your favorite sewing or quilting store to be the first to host this new, fun event.

Until next month - Express Yourself!

AMERICA SEWS WITH SUE HAUSMANN ON PBS-TV

Carol shows you how to do fabric manipulation on the serger to give added texture to your project. She stabilized the fabric for the manipulation with the New Sulky Tender Touch Iron-On Stabilizer, and embellished it on the 5-thread serger using the chain stitch, 2 strands of 12-wt. in the chain looper, and Sulky Polyester Invisible Thread in the main needle (a topstitch 14/90).

Carol also gathered the fabric with the differential feed creating beautiful ruched silk dupioni, which she turned into a beautiful table runner and pillow to match the new décor in her house.

Also shown are other uses of Sulky Tender Touch such as beneath smocking, and on the back of computerized embroideries to protect sensitive skin from scratchy stitches. It's also a perfect stabilizer for embroidering on sweater knits.
