Obviously, none of our stabilizers are edible, but all of the water soluble products are non-toxic to humans. This could be true could be true for animals. But we've never tested it for that. I have had people tell me that their pets have eaten it but nothing happened. If your pet is acting strange, though, I would take it to the vet.

It would not be my first choice. It wouldn't add much body, and I would worry about it being trapped in the quilt and not rinsing out completely because it would take a lot of washing to dissolve all of it. If it didn't all dissolve, I would be concerned it would get lumpy. I don't know of anyone who used this for a t-shirt quilt. We've always recommended Sulky Tender Touch, which won't change the hand of the soft t-shirts, especially for a bed quilt. For a wall hanging you could use Sulky Soft 'n Sheer Extra which is about 50% heavier than our regular Soft 'n Sheer and would add more body for a wall hanging. I use this product a lot for embroidery and I can't find any information on the composition of the backing/release sheet. It would be great to know definitively if it were recyclable, or even compostable (I believe that's probably a long shot though!). Thank you! See more »
