CRY is an exclusive Sulky/Gunold Thread. It stands for: Coated Reflective Yarn. It is a polyester thread, coated in microscopic glass beads (which create the reflective effect). We have metallic threads that have a "reflective effect" in daylight, but this is the only thread currently available for NIGHT reflective effects, and for use on a home sewing or embroidery machine.

So what can CRY be used for? CRY is visible from a distance when used in appliqués, decorative seams, or large-scale embroideries. Outline designs are best. It not only provides protection and higher visibility to the wearer, but it also creates fascinating sparkling effects in the dark. CRY is perfect for uniforms. Its reflective properties create shining reflections, which can protect by improving the conditions for visibility at work.

CRY is certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is suitable for use with high-visibility clothing (DIN EN 471) according to ISO 20471 2013, but complete certification is only possible on the basis of finished goods.
